President Ilham Aliyev has attended the opening of the “Khazri” Recreation and Wellness Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs built in Zugulba.
Minister of Internal Affairs Col-Gen Ramil Usubov reported to Commander-in-Chief President Ilham Aliyev.
The head of state cut the ribbon symbolizing the opening of the center.
It was indicated that the construction of the “Khazri” Recreation and Wellness Center, covering an area of 13.5 hectares, commenced in May 2010. It is comprised of the main seven-storey building, a checkpoint, a conference section, sports facilities, a boiler house, a pump station, indoor and outdoor swimming pools, a beach, two-storey cottages, seaside restaurants, a tea-house and other recreational facilities. Extensive landscaping work has been carried out both in front of the center and along the coastline.
While reviewing the main building, the President was informed that it has a total area of around 25,000 square meters. There are bedrooms and lounges for a total of 328 people. There are recreation areas, registration and waiting areas, a 200-seat restaurant and a 400-seat conference room on the second floor.
There is a fitness center and an indoor swimming pool here. These are fitted with the latest sporting equipment. Also available are billiard rooms, bowling alleys and a center for kids.
Then President Ilham Aliyev examined the rooms. The rooms command magnificent views of the Caspian Sea.
The President also reviewed the presidential suite on the sixth floor and enjoyed the sea view from its balcony.
Then the head of state toured the premises of the center. It was noted that in addition to the main building, there are eight two-storey cottages here. Two outdoor swimming pools are intended for both adults and kids.
There is a 200-seat amphitheater for concerts and other shows, football, volleyball and tennis courts, a children’s amusement park, indoor and outdoor restaurants operating throughout the year, a tea-house, etc. The recreational facility is complemented by a beach area.
The President praised the work done at the Center and congratulated its staff.
