3rd Azerbaijan International Education & Career Exhibition
The 3rd Azerbaijan International Education & Career Exhibition will be held on 10-12 September in the Heydar Aliyev Sport and Concert Complex, with the support of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan. The exhibition is also supported by the Ministry of Youth and Sport of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Azerbaijan. The organisers of the exhibition are Iteca Caspian LLC and its partner, ITE Group PLC.
This year, 53 organisations and companies from 12 countries are taking part in the exhibition, an increase of 25% on last year in terms of the number of exhibitors. In total, the exhibition area has increased by 30%. A particularly positive factor is the participation of local organisations, which account for 50% of the total number of exhibitors. Azerbaijan’s education system will be demonstrated by the following institutions: Azerbaijan University of Foreign Languages, Azerbaijan State Economics University, Azerbaijan University, Azerbaijan Diplomatic Academy and many others. This year, Azerbaijan State Agrarian University (Ganja), the only university in the country that trains specialists for working in agriculture, and Baku Professional Lyceum will appear at the exhibition for the first time. A new development in the exhibition is the participation of non-governmental youth organisations and associations, which has been organised by the Ministry of Youth and Sport of Azerbaijan.
The exhibition will present secondary and higher education, study courses, work abroad, language courses, professional development, job placements, study materials and information technology in education. New sectors will be added to Education and Career 2009. For the first time, the exhibition will present school uniforms; ‘Preschool Education’ will present programme and tests for preparing children for middle school. Continuing the trend of the previous exhibition, ‘Education Abroad’ will include a wide range of educational establishments from Switzerland, Great Britain, Germany, Turkey, Italy, Russia, Czech Republic, Hungary and many other countries. The stand of the Ministry of Education of Belarus will bring together four Belarusian state universities.
This year’s exhibition includes a large ‘Career’ sector in which organisations from Great Britain will introduce job placement programmes for young people who have graduated from university or abroad. The US Higher School of Business and other organisations will also take part. A Swiss university will present its Higher School of Hotel Management. At the moment, the role of companies offering further work skills training is increasing. As a result of this, companies offering consultancy services, training and seminars on adapting to current labour market demands will take part in the exhibition for the first time.
A highlight of the exhibition will be the business information and entertainment programme. Over three days, online presentations will be given on educational programmes, career training, courses. Leading specialists will give master classes on presentation skills, and how to use technology in preparing and giving presentations. There will also be a master class on career planning, which will detail the theoretical knowledge and skills necessary for planning one’s career.
As part of the activities devoted to the ‘Year of the Child’ in Azerbaijan, the organisers of Education & Career have timed a charity event, ‘Give a Book’ - the aim of which is to collect books for children’s homes - to coincide with the exhibition. Almost everyone has books at home, which have already served their families well. We are inviting visitors to give these books a second life by donating them to children’s homes. Anyone wishing to donate a book can bring it to the organiser’s stand at the Education & Career exhibition on 10-12 September.
The aim of the Azerbaijan International Education & Career Exhibition is to create a platform for dialogue between employers, educational institutions and young people. It is the largest event of its kind in the region, and informs young people about the development of local and international education. The exhibition will give full information about cultural exchange programmes and study in Azerbaijan and abroad. Additionally, the show will give visitors the opportunity to experience the ‘esprit de corps’ of those companies with vacancies to fill, and help them to discover which professions are most in demand at the moment.
