The documentary about the 4 police officers, who participated in the defense of Jabrayil region in 1993, will be broadcast on Azerbaijan Television.
According to AzTV's Social Media and PR Department, the film has been produced by the "Azerbaijantelefilm" Creative Union and is entitled "The 13th day".
The main characters of the documentary are participants of the First Karabakh War: Nubarak Sevdimaliyev, Pahlavan Mammadov, Madat Humbataliyev and Vagif Maharramov. The four police officers are both living witnesses and victims of that tragedy.
The police officers participated in the defense of Jabrayil until August 23, 1993. They also defended the population for 2 months after the occupation.
They were forced to move to the Khudafarin bridge together with the population. Finally, they could help the civilians cross the Iranian border safe and sound. However, the police officers stayed in ambush for 13 days. At that time, 16 police officers from Jabrayil region became martyrs. Only 7 out of the police officers defending the population could escape the ambush safe and sound.
Everything, that happened within those 13 days: sudden attacks, murders, Armenian atrocities, is demonstrated in the film.
The horrible life of the IDPs after the occupation, the tent town they settled in and the bad conditions they lived in are reflected in the documentary.
The heroes of "The 13th day" share their impressions about the liberation of the lands, remember the moments of the battles and experience that pain all over again.
The scriptwriter and director of the film is Elvin Mirzayev, cameraman - Elshan Badalov, video editing director - Jabir Aliyev, editor - Afag Vasifgizi, producer - Fatima Azimova.
The head of the project is Elchin Musaoghlu.
