Sony is set to bolster its current presence in Azerbaijan leveraging the capital city of Baku’s high business potential. The announcement was made at an exclusive media event hosted in the JW Marriott Absheron which showcased some of Sony’s recent global launches to loyal Azerbaijani customers.
Addressing the media, Sony detailed plans to increase the number of local outlets from six to 18 by April 2016. Sony products are currently retailed at local outlets Music Gallery, Baku Electronics, and Kontakt Electronics. Sony also plans to present physical displays of product concepts, enhance customer experience, and strengthen current support services.
Speaking at the event Satoru Arai, Head of Sony Middle East Marketing Company, said: “We are delighted to re-establish our presence here in Azerbaijan. Baku’s business potential demonstrates high benefits to Sony and we have exciting plans for this country. Our local retail network is designed to satisfy customer needs and we are interested in bringing in more coveted products and unify global releases to allow our consumers to simultaneously experience the latest technology with the rest of the world, given the high uptake that Sony products enjoy in Azerbaijan.”
On display at the event was the recently launched BRAVIA™ 4K LCD X9000C televisions built with a new 4K Processor X1, further advancing the clarity, colour accuracy and contrast of the Sony 4K viewing experience. The new X9000C series features a new ultra-thin floating style, making it Sony’s thinnest range of TVs yet with edge-to-edge viewing. In addition, the new range utilises Google’s latest Android TV operating system and enables easy video streaming, while also turning the television into a gaming device. In addition, it features the Google Cast™ and Voice Search conveniences.
Sony also highlighted its new line-up of high resolution audio products, including stylish headphones and a Walkman® with a distinct finish in a vast array of colours that allow customers to match their own style. Whether portraying laid-back elegance or radiant cheerfulness, Sony’s sleek h.ear™1 (pronounced hear) series and Walkman® range are available in deep shades ranging from viridian blue, cinnabar red, charcoal black, lime yellow to bordeaux pink for every type of personality.
High-Resolution Audio allows customers to revel in music like never before as it brings customer’s favourite tunes so much closer to the true sound that the artist originally intended. By using Sony’s acoustic engineering technologies, Sony’s expanding range of High-Resolution Audio products aim to reproduce music just as artists truly intended, beyond CD quality. This combination of quality and design elevates both Sony’s new “h.ear on™ ” headband-type headphones, “h.ear in NC™1” Noise Cancelling (NC) in-ear headphones, “h.ear in™1” in-ear headphones, and Walkman® to become a true statement of musical style and personality.
Furthermore, Sony showcased the flagship digital imaging product the α7R II, proving the brand’s status as the worldwide leader in digital imaging and photography. The α7R II is the world’s first back-illuminated 35mm full-frame sensor Exmor R™ CMOS sensor1, which realizes high-resolution (approximately 42.4 effective megapixels), high-sensitivity (expandable up to ISO 102400) and high-speed AF response up to 40 per cent faster than the original α7R, thanks to 399 focal plane phase detection AF points.
Alongside, Sony also revealed the debut of the new RX cameras, the compact RX100 IV and high-zoom RX10 II models. Both feature the world’s first 1.0 type stacked Exmor RS™ CMOS sensor with advanced signal processing and an attached DRAM memory chip. The high speed signal processing and DRAM memory chip work together to enable more than five times the readout rate of image data and are responsible for a variety of standout features that have previously only been available in selected professional-level video cameras. Both units in the RX series are the two most advanced and versatile Cybershot cameras.
