In 2015, reports by six experts from the United States, Italy and Turkey were written on Azerbaijan's trilateral approach to foreign policy. The authors conducted research on Azerbaijan-Georgia-Turkey, Azerbaijan-Turkey-Iran and Azerbaijan-Turkey-Turkmenistan formats of trilateral cooperation. Given the importance that these cooperation patterns have for Azerbaijan's national interests, Center for Strategic Studies under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan (SAM) published a book entitled, "Trilateral Dimension of Azerbaijan's Foreign Policy" where those reports were reflected.
The book sheds light on Azerbaijan's foreign policy and its role in ensuring and contributing to stability and security on the Eurasian continent through strengthening economic development and trade relations against the backdrop of a very complicated geopolitical situation. Azerbaijan is described as the main initiator of the creation of trilateral cooperation formats with its partners.
The book was co-edited by SAM Director Dr. Farhad Mammadov and SAM Foreign policy expert Fuad Chiragov.
