Nearly 50 companies, most of them located close to Baku City Circuit, will offer special discounts of up to 20 % to all 2017 Formula 1 Azerbaijan Grand Prix ticketholders.
On May 30th, memorandum of understanding of cooperation between Baku City Circuit Operations Company (BCC) and the Alliance for Advancement of Tourism and Cuisine (AATC) as part of the “Positive Impact of the Formula 1 Azerbaijan Grand Prix on Tourism Development” project was signed by both parties.
The memorandum states that each participating company will offer special discounts to 2017 Formula 1 Azerbaijan Grand Prix ticketholders via the signing of a bilateral contract with AATC.
The main purpose of this project is to help the private sector develop further in Azerbaijan by creating effective financial opportunities for local businesses, including small and medium-sized enterprises.
Nigar Arpadarai, BCC’s Head of Marketing and Communications, commented on the mutual benefits of this discount campaign for all involved: “There is no doubt that this campaign will be hugely beneficial for both F1 spectators and our local business entrepreneurs. During the upcoming race weekend, thousands of Formula 1 fans will visit these local businesses where they will be offered special discounts and this in turn will create beneficial opportunities for all participating companies. It truly is a win-win scenario for all parties.”
Kamala Mammadova, Head of AATC, said she believed this project was the beginning of an effective long term strategy to support Baku businesses: “There is a considerable increase in the number of tourists coming to the country. Those who previously travelled to European countries for recreational reasons, now prefer to come to Azerbaijan. On the eve of the 2017 Formula 1 Azerbaijan Grand Prix we have taken this opportunity to launch this strategy to help tourism develop further in the country. Dozens of companies have joined the campaign in a very short period of time. We believe this interest will continue to grow and the project will be long-lasting”.
The discount campaign will start on June 1st and will last until July 15th, 2017. BCC will provide participating companies with special discount stickers to be placed at their entrances.
46 companies have already joined the project. Among them are national, European, Asian and Turkish restaurants, national souvenir, housewares and jewelry shops, beauty salons, spa centers, wine houses, clinics, hotels and other specialized businesses.
