Why doesn't Trump consider the interests of Ukraine to end the war?
US President Donald Trump's "peace plan" shows that Ukraine has lost its main strategic partner with whom the relevant Charter was signed.
Oleg Shamshur, the former ambassador of Ukraine to the USA and France, said.
He believes that such a scenario was unlikely to happen before.
Shamshur stressed that Trump does not consider Ukraine to be strategically important for the United States or a state of personal interest to him, because the American leader and his special representatives Jared Kushner and Steve Witkoff do not see serious prospects for US business in the country.
The diplomat added that the large-scale economic projects offered by the Kremlin to Trump are a dream.
He noted that it is precisely the desire to focus on economic cooperation with Russia that prompts the Trump administration to quickly end the war in Ukraine under any conditions, even if it is against the interests of our country.
According to Shamshur, Trump's desire can also be connected with his plans to become an "omnipotent peacemaker" and win the Nobel Peace Prize. At the same time, the US president continues to emphasize that Ukraine will not receive financial aid from the US during his term of office.
The former ambassador said that Trump's team ignores the disastrous consequences of such initiatives.
