32 people accused of illegal betting were detained

Professional league club managers have come under suspicion during an investigation into allegations of match-fixing and betting in football.

Thirty-three individuals with active accounts in bookmakers have been identified. It was determined that these persons, among other things, bet on the victories of opponents in matches involving the teams they manage.

This morning, law enforcement agencies conducted simultaneous raids at 33 addresses, including searches and seizure of evidence. The operation covered 10 provinces and the coordination center was located in Istanbul.

After these operations, 32 people were detained and investigation operations against other suspects are ongoing.

In the official statement of the Prosecutor's Office, it was emphasized: "Comprehensive efforts aimed at the definitive elimination of match-fixing in Turkish football and the fight against illegal betting games that harm the society are ongoing."

We remind you that Diyarbakır Spor sports club was confiscated earlier during this investigation.

The operation started with the statement of the President of the Turkish Football Federation (TFF) İbrahim Haciosmanoğlu dated October 27, 2025. His statement "betting accounts were found in the hands of 371 judges, 152 of whom were regular bettors" was considered official information of the crime.

A number of football players and officials, including the president of Eyupspor, were previously arrested.

The investigation of illegal gambling and match-fixing in football continues.
