Brazil's Olympic stadium caught fire for the third time in eight years
Olympic Stadium in Rio, Brazil, has been engulfed in fire for the third time since its foundation. The shocking video shows the roof engulfed in flames and an investigation has been launched.
A huge fire broke out in the Olympic Stadium and the roof burned strangely, like a net.
Wednesday morning, the Olympic cycling track in Rio was engulfed in fire for the third time in eight years. Terrible video footage of the fire shows the roof engulfed in flames.
Emergency services arrived at the stadium at Olympic Park at around 4:17am to find half the roof collapsed.
About 80 firefighters and 20 fire trucks arrived at the stadium to fight the fire.
Authorities said the fire was mostly contained to the canvas roof.
The Rio fire department said there was no internal damage to the velodrome.
Currently, the World Fencing Championship among cadets and juniors is held here.
