New UN Resident Coordinator at “ASAN service”
The newly appointed Resident Coordinator of the United Nations (UN) in Azerbaijan, Dmytro Shlapachenko, got acquainted with the activities of the "ASAN service” center.
Ulvi Mehdiyev, Chairman of the State Agency for Public Service and Social Innovations under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, provided the guest with detailed information about various activities of the State Agency, including “ASAN service” centers established on the initiative of President Ilham Aliyev and projects implemented in the field of social innovations.
It was also emphasized that the State Agency was awarded the UN Public Service Award in 2015 and a special UN award for the development of public services through the application of digital governance in 2019, as well as the successful implementation of the “ASAN service” model in various countries.
The importance of the Contribution Agreement signed between the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the United Nations (UN) was also highlighted. Under the agreement, the application of innovations and capacity building for the provision of public services based on the “ASAN service” model in UN member countries are envisaged, whereby the UN considers the “ASAN service” concept—which has become Azerbaijan's brand internationally—as the best model and promotes it to member states.
Emphasizing that “ASAN service” is a unique concept, Dmytro Shlapachenko highly appreciated the export of this successful model to other countries.
The Resident Coordinator also got acquainted with the activities of the “INNOLAND” Incubation and Acceleration Center, Mobile ASAN service, and the "ABAD" public legal entity.
