Azerbaijan was the first in the "Great Silk Road"

The traditional "Great Silk Road" tournament between male and female boxers and 126 leather glovers representing 10 countries, including Azerbaijan, was concluded with decisive final matches at the Baku Boxing Center.

According to the information provided by ABF, the Azerbaijani national team, which won 21 (6-5-10) medals in the 6-day tournament, was the first in the team score. Kazakhstan took the second place with 15 (3-5-8) medals, and Turkey took the third place with 6 (3-0-3) medals.

Men fought in 10 weights and women in 4 weights in the tournament. As part of the Azerbaijani team, men won 19 (6-5-8) medals, while women won only 2 (0-0-2) medals. It should be noted that 4 Azerbaijani branches took place in the men's race. In these finals, world champion Subhan Mammadov (50 kg) defeated his teammate Bilalhabashi Nazarov, Zalimkhan Suleymanov (55 kg) defeated Amin Mammadzadeh, Tayfur Aliyev (60 kg) Mahammadali Ashuraliyev, Malik Hasanovsa (65 kg) defeated Zaur Gahramanov. The winners won gold medals and the losers won silver medals. Two more gold medals were awarded to Zehrady Garayev (90 kg) and Muhammed Abdullayev (+90 kg). Another silver medal of the team was won by Seyid Seyidov (80 kg).

As for the bronze medals of our team, Zidan Khumbatov (55 kg), Mahammadali Gasimzade (60 kg), Sarkhan Aliyev (70 kg), Saidjamsid Jafarov, Rasim Jobanli (both 75 kg), Hasan Osmanli (80 kg), Murad Allahverdiyev (85 kg) and Sabuhi Alizade+90 kg from men, and Gunel from women. Rahimova (51 kg) and Emilii Rzayeva (65 kg) won.

Bakberjin Aliaskerov (Kazakhstan) was awarded the title of the best boxer of the tournament, and Rashid Benaica from Algeria was awarded the title of the best referee.
