Turkish national team in the final stage of WC-2026

Yesterday evening, the last decisive final games were held within the playoff stage of the 2026 World Cup on the European continent. One of the interesting games for Azerbaijan football fans took place at the "Fadil Vakkri" stadium in Prishtin between the local Kosovo national team and the Turkish moon-star team. The fate of the 90-minute fight was decided by the only goal scored by Turkish national player Kerem Akturkglu in the 53rd minute of the match. With this, the Turkish national team won the right to play in the final stage of the World Cup for the third time in its history. It should be noted that the Turkish national team participated in the World Cup for the first time in 1954, and for the second time in 2002. By the way, the Turkish national team will compete with the USA, Paraguay and Australia, one of the hosts, in Group D of the World Cup.

As for the other games held yesterday, it was the first to win the Sweden-Poland match - 3:2. It should be noted that the Swedish national team took a kind of revenge against the Polish team. Thus, Poland blocked Sweden's way to the World Cup in 2022. And now...

Sweden will compete in Group F with the Netherlands, Japan and Tunisia.

The fate of the Czech Republic - Denmark match, which ended with a score of 2:2 in the main part, was determined in the penalty shootout - 3:1. The Czech Republic, which left the duel, will face Mexico, CAR and Korea in Group A of the World Cup.

An unexpected result was recorded in the Bosnia-Italy match. The fate of the match, the main part of which ended in a draw (1:1), was decided in the penalty shootout. The national team of Bosnia-Herzegovina, which made more accurate shots, bought a ticket to the World Cup - 4:1.

Note:The final stage of the WC-2026 will be held from June 11 to July 19 in the USA, Canada and Mexico. For the first time, 48 teams will compete in the World Cup.
