Memorial Rehimli:
Mr. officers, answer me, is this what you are doing?
Baku, the capital with endless problems...
Will this city's problems ever end?
Baku submerged in rainwater...
Baku has problems, Baku is sick,
The heart is waiting, the eye is on the road.
(Samad Vurgun)
The poet seems to have written these verses for these days. Baku has really been in trouble for several years.
But high-ranking officials either ignore these problems or do not want to solve them.
It has been raining for several hours. The capital Baku was again flooded by rainwater, as in previous years. It's like a flood is taking away Baku.
As soon as it rains in the city of Baku, small puddles appear on the streets and roads. Roads and some underground tunnels are completely covered with rainwater.
As a result of two days of rain, passenger cars and even buses carrying passengers were submerged in water, and even the interior of the buses was filled with rainwater.
The residents of the capital suffered greatly from this unpleasant and embarrassing situation.
Such a question arises. What are the officials doing? What is the name of their job?
After all, why don't you feel absolutely responsible in your work? Although you hold a high position, you are very negligent in your work, Mr. Officers.
Baku has countless problems that I haven't written about in this article yet...
Mr. Eldar Azizov, Head of Baku City Executive Authority. I reminded you that the salaries of both you and the heads of the regional ICA have been raised significantly. But you are still not doing well. Why, why and for what reason?
Gentlemen, is this what you do?
Do you know why Baku floods every time it rains? If you don't know, I'll tell you, be aware, gentlemen?
Because there is still no drainage system and centralized sewage system in many parts of Baku.
Why is there no drainage system in Baku for the flow of rainwater? Mr. officers, answer, is this what you are doing?
Tell me why you don't want to solve these problems? I wonder what is the reason for this?
Millions, even billions of funds have been allocated from the state budget over the past 20 years in connection with the reconstruction of Baku's water supply and sewage system, as well as for the purpose of improving the city's ecological and sanitary conditions.
Where and what were these funds spent on? Maybe most of these millions are in someone's pocket. Heads of relevant institutions, can you answer this question?
It is clear from the unpleasant events that occurred that this flood disaster in the country was caused by corruption. Of course it is.
Floods and puddles caused by rainwater caused many problems. The rain that fell continuously for several hours covered the roads, private houses and yards.
Officials who are negligent in their work. Let me bring one issue to your attention, please know.
There are big cities in the world where intense rain often falls. I should also note that each of those cities has a population of several million.
However, no matter how many days it rains heavily in those cities, the terrible scenes created by rainwater in Baku do not appear in those cities and there are no disasters.
So, it is clearly known that every official working in European countries, in contrast to high-ranking officials in Baku, treats the work they are responsible for with great responsibility.
Also, a very correct and perfect system is created in every field in European countries.
Dear Eldar Azizov, why can't you work like this? What are the reasons?
I also remembered that in October 2024, two people drowned as a result of rainwater filling the Sabunchu Pass.
Unfortunately, Sabunchu crossing was again flooded and the roads were impassable due to the damage caused by the rain that fell on Baku last year.
Also, the roads of several villages and some settlements of Baku were covered by rainwater and created big problems.
Mr. officers, be a little responsible in your work. After all, Azerbaijan is also your homeland. It is necessary to love the motherland.
There is such an idea: loving the motherland is faith!
P. Q. I wonder if Eldar Azizov will still see the fault not in officials, but in nature?
